Previously known as the USA Palma Team, we have added the name of USA National Rifle Development Team to better define our purpose and our goals. The US “Palma “Team is assembled only once every four years. The USA National Rifle Team is a continuous team from which the members of the US Palma Team will be selected. The National Development Rifle Team was formed to address the need for continual training and team building between the four year cycles of the Palma Team competition. This team is comprised of the Young Eagles (the Under 19/21/25 Team), prior Palma Team members, next generation Palma Team, and Veterans Team members. Our goal is to train and compete under the same program. Then once every four years we will compete in the World Championships in separate categories.

The USA National Team has been selected through a very comprehensive tryout process that evaluates the shooters’ abilities to demonstrate a superior level of marksmanship. Similarly the coaches are required to work within their program and demonstrate abilities to read the wind, work within a large squad, and lead a team.

A vital element of team training is to travel and compete annually in international and national shooting venues. The USA National Team also provides the unique opportunity for shooters and coaches to represent the United States in international and national competition annually – not just every four years. The US National Team is a large team by design so we can fulfill our obligations to represent the United States at these various venues without due hardship to the team members.
